Nail Polish: Atlantic-Pacific x Formula X (Atlantic Mist)

I found this dotted blouse at H&M a few weeks ago and felt so inspired by its girly, 70’s vibes – and the affordable price! When I wore it to the office, one of my coworkers said, “Only you could wear that!” so I decided to show you all not one, but TWO ways to style this top on Amy Lately. Come back next week for look #2!

A month or so ago, I had the pleasure of heading back to the beautiful, scruffy mountain city of Knoxville, Tennessee to throw a bachelorette party for my best friend. If you know me, then you know about Kelsey McMurry – she’s the absolute love of my life (sorry, husband) and my inspiration in all things. I just can’t shut up about her. While in Knox, we had a little fun styling and shooting some blog posts in and around her gorgeous loft.

Thank you Kelsey McMurry Photography for your artistry and light-seeking contributions to this post.

My Secrets to Shopping Online

Happy Monday, everyone! As many of you know, I do the vast majority of my shopping online. I am constantly asked how I trust online stores, how I know clothes will fit me, etc. Read up on all my online shopping secrets in this post!

Tip #1: Let technology do the work for you!
When I shop online, I rarely buy an item full-price. My secret? Shoptagr! Shoptagr is a free, online service that allows you to virtually save items you’re interested in. Then, it notifies you when those items go on sale or are low in stock! Basically, it does all the work for you. Check it out!

Tip #2: Start Off Easy
Start online shopping from brands you’re familiar with. We all have our favorites – my mom has a special relationship with Talbots! If you’re not used to online shopping, start with your favorite brands whose sizing you are familiar with, and build up your courage from there! You can also start by scoping out a store’s offerings online before you hit the mall – I always find a targeted approach to be more successful!

Tip #3: Strategically Googling
Before I buy a clothing item online, I always Google it! Mannequins and models can be deceiving, but, nine times out of ten, a blogger has posted pictures of it online, and I can get a glimpse of what it looks like on a real person! Here’s a peek inside that process:

I love this dress from JCrew, but how would it look on me?! Let’s do some research!

I Googled “j crew off-the-shoulder dress,” and found dozens of pictures of real women modeling it for me. Now I think I can pull it off – and I have plenty of styling inspo!

Tip #4: Don’t Fear FedEx

When online shopping, don’t be afraid to return things! I often find that stores carry an extended selection online, which means you can find more unique styles that everyone else won’t be wearing. I’m a little anal when it comes to my clothes – when it came time to replace my beloved leopard print flats, I went through three returns before I hit the mark! I would rather put in a little extra work for the perfect pair (here, FYI) than settle for limited selection at the mall.
